BEFORE AND AFTERMATH 2010: ROUND TWO

Joker Beast's War Journal
Wednesday, December 15, 2010

[sigh]

Okay.

Shot down in the first round for the second year straight. I had a feeling it was gonna be a bad week.

F*ck this war.

Rodgers goes down and so does Savage Life.

Dub, Pope barely made it out of the foxhole.

Team Perfection falls victim to the wack-ass tiebreaker method. When will the atrocities end?

...

[shrug]

How fitting that the four teams left are the only teams that beat me this year. Makes sense. You gotta beat the best (me) to be the best (me still).

Wait. If I'm dead, how am I still writing?

[shrug]

TALE OF THE TAPE

footBALLS DEEP (9-5) vs Diablo Negro (8-6)
Diablo Negro came out victorious in their first meeting a loooong 12 weeks ago. But that was back when Philip Rivers ran the team and Austin Collie wasn't limping. DEEP's Andre Johnson is a fantasy beast and Roddy White and LeSean McCoy are no slouches either. Negro is on a hot streak that snuck him into the playoffs and has him playing all the way through week 16. But last week was his first victory without hitting 100. Will Black have a serious shot at taking down the league's points leader? Or will footBALLS DEEP finally best his postseason adversary in this rematch of Superbowls II and IV?

Advantages
Win Pct: footBALLS DEEP (.643)
Win Streak: Diablo Negro (3)
Points Avg: footBALLS DEEP (130.8)
Biggest Win: footBALLS DEEP (171.5, Wk 10)
Lowest Loss: footBALLS DEEP (Diablo Negro's 67.5, Wk 11)
Heavy Hitter: Diablo Negro (Tom Brady)
Albatross: footBALLS DEEP (Diablo Negro's Greg Olsen)

Advantage 5-2, footBALLS DEEP

Hitmen (9-5) vs STLiens (9-5)
It's another "long time no see" as STLiens tries to repay Hitmen for his Week 4 loss. STLiens has gone 8-2 since while Hitmen has struggled recently losing three of the last four regular season games. It'll be a Catch-22 game as Hitmen's Manning will be throwing to STL's Wayne. The matchup seems pretty even with Hitmen having a slight edge. Will Peyton return Hitmen to another Superbowl? Or does STLiens have a shot at being the first rookie team to make it to the championship game?

Advantages
Win Pct: Tie (.643)
Win Streak: Tie (1)
Points Avg: Hitmen (118.6)
Biggest Win: Hitmen (137, Wk 7)
Lowest Loss: Hitmen (STLien's 74, Wk 2)
Heavy Hitter: Hitmen (Peyton Manning)
Albatross: STLiens (Hitmen's Hines Ward)

Advantage 4-1-2, Hitmen

Good luck to all competitors.

Next Week: The End.
